very limited lifespan

I'm on my 4th USB charger within the last 6 months, since these chargers tend to stop working properly after a month or two. It begins slowly, with the red charging light not showing up unless the attached elips-C is set at a particular angle/position, then goes downhill from there. I've tried simply not moving anything whenever it's charging, but that hasn't had an effect on the charger's overall lifespan. Overall, the elips-C works great, so it's depressing that the charger at $8 a pop needs to be replaced so frequently, and I hope to find an alternative charger soon.
